Instant oatmeal: my new obsession! It is a great neutral breakfast to have before a day full of hiking, scuba diving, or any active event.  You can eat it plain or add any fruit you can imagine.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup old fashioned oats (quick/microwaveable/instant)
1 heaping tbs brown sugar
pinch of cinnamon
1/4 to 2/4 cup milk (or water)  (I use 1/4 + 1/8 cups)
2 to 3 strawberries, sliced (or any fruit you want!)

Directions:
- Measure oats into a microwave safe bowl.
- Add milk (or water).  (The more milk you add, the more liquid-y the oatmeal.)
- Mix in the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Place in microwave for 1 minute.  Stir.  Then put it in for 1 more minute.
(You can add more milk and microwave again until you get the consistency you prefer.)
- Add the strawberries and eat up!

Strawberries are currently my favorite fruit to add, but I do like plums, pears, and bananas.  You can add raisons, cranberries, dried fruits, nuts, chocolate chips, etc.  I will start experimenting with different spice mixes too.  Once I get a good formula, I'll add it to the blog!
