mashed potatoes

whipping up a big batch of light and fluffy mashed potatoes is ALWAYS a good idea.  i can eat mashed potatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  i can have mashed potatoes as a side dish or main dish.  the bigger the batch, the better!  this recipe is a sure bet, every time.
> Ingredients:
8 potatoes, peeled
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 tbs sugar
1 tbs onion powder
1 tbs garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

> Directions:
- Peel the potatoes and cut in halves.
- Fill a large pot with water, bring to boil, and add the potatoes.  Let boil for about 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are soft when checked with a fork.
- Drain the water.
- Mash the potatoes.
- Mix in the butter, milk, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

This mashed potato recipe is a great basic recipe.  You can also add chives, sauteed carrots, sauteed mushrooms, corn, etc to change it up every once in a while!  An amazing addition to mashed potatoes is gravy of course.  The possibilites are endless!
